Alan Pardew claimed he was 'like Kim Kardashian's sugar daddy' in what might be the strangest story ever told.

The 64-year-old former Premier League boss is currently enjoying a break from management, having last been in charge of Greek outfit Aris until February 2023. Pardew appears to be working through his bucket list, having attended the Monaco Grand Prix earlier this month.

However, 'Chocolate' - a nickname infamously coined by ex-West Ham striker Dean Ashton, who said his then-boss "loves himself so much he'd eat himself if he could" - got more than he expected when he came face-to-face with the 45-year-old reality star, who stole the spotlight in Monte Carlo.

It marked the reality icon's first public appearance at an F1 race since confirming her relationship with Lewis Hamilton.

Kim cheered on her boyfriend as he finished second in Monte Carlo, before Hamilton secured his first Grand Prix victory with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday, putting him firmly in the World Championship mix.

Reacting to Hamilton's win in Barcelona this weekend on talkSPORT, Pardew highlighted the impact Kim has had on the seven-time world champion. "He's obviously got a little spur in him!" Pardew joked.

The former Reading, Charlton Athletic, Southampton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion boss then recounted his encounter with Kim in Monaco in an astonishing and bizarre exchange.

He said: "How about me at Monaco? How about this? So the security guards were giving me a hard time, trying to tell me the usual 'not there, not there sir, no, no.'

"I could see her walking towards me and I was like 'look I'm just standing out of the way because she's coming through with her entourage.' But no they weren't having it and he literally pushed me straight into Kim.

"There I was next to her, walking alongside her like her sugar daddy, for a period, about a second! I was hoping somebody was going to take a picture but they didn't."

Billionaire Kim was not spotted in Spain for Hamilton's emotional maiden Ferrari victory, but she did celebrate the Brit's win by posting a picture of the moment he crossed the line with a love heart emoji.

Kim was also present in the Mercedes garage last weekend as she sent Kimi Antonelli a personal gift after she appeared to take the 19-year-old's towel following his win in Monaco.

In a brilliant gesture, Kim sent Antonelli a replacement towel to the Mercedes garage in Spain. A video showed the teenager being handed a fresh white towel, with the words: "To Kimi from Kim."

A shocked Antonelli asked if the gift was really from her, and after a team member confirmed it was, he replied: "Thank you, Kim," and removed the ribbon to drape the towel around his neck.
