Marc Cucurella has officially finalized his £51.7 million move to Real Madrid, with both Chelsea and the Spanish club confirming the permanent transfer that involves an upfront payment of £47.4 million and an additional £4.3 million in performance-related bonuses.

Marc Cucurella has completed his unexpected transfer to Real Madrid, ending his tenure at Chelsea.
The Blues have confirmed that Cucurella will move to the La Liga giants on a permanent basis, as they part ways with one of their finest and most seasoned players for £52 million. Currently representing Spain at the World Cup in North America, the left-back's switch to the Santiago Bernabeu will be officially concluded once the tournament wraps up.
On Sunday, reports emerged that Chelsea had agreed to a total package of £51.7 million for Cucurella's transfer to Madrid, including an initial £47.4 million fee plus £4.3 million in add-ons. This deal concludes Cucurella's nearly four-year spell at Chelsea, where he featured in 150 matches after his £63 million arrival from Brighton.

In a statement, Chelsea said: "Marc Cucurella has completed a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid. Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022 and was part of the team that claimed the UEFA Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup last year.
"During Cucurella's stay at Stamford Bridge, the 27-year-old defender was a regular for the Spanish national team and won the UEFA European Championships in 2024.
"Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Marc for his efforts during his time at the club and for the role he played in our recent achievements. We wish him every success as he begins the next stage of his career."

Real Madrid subsequently announced the signing of Cucurella, with the Spanish international committing to a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports the Mirror.
A statement from Madrid confirmed: "Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marc Cucurella, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032."
Cucurella's exit occurs just before Xabi Alonso officially starts as Chelsea manager on July 1, following his appointment last month. Alonso, a former Madrid boss, will now begin the new season without the Blues' primary left-back from the previous campaign.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will seek a replacement in the transfer market.
After finishing 10th in the Premier League last season, Chelsea will not participate in European competitions next term. The club's transfer plans for the remainder of the summer are currently uncertain.
