Ruben Amorim will be back on the touchline after securing a new role, five months following his departure from Manchester United.
The Portuguese manager had a challenging period with the Red Devils. He guided them to the Europa League final in 2024/25, yet he was unable to achieve the level of success expected by supporters or the club's hierarchy.
Now, however, Amorim can move past that experience and anticipate a fresh challenge at another major club.
Ruben Amorim set to take over at AC Milan
Following the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri after a fifth-place finish in Serie A last season, which was labeled "an unequivocal failure," AC Milan are beginning a new era with Amorim in charge.
Reports indicated that the 47-year-old would be heading to Italy, and Fabrizio Romano has now virtually confirmed the hiring.

Amorim will now be responsible for bringing the Italian club back to its former greatness. Milan have not claimed the Serie A title since 2021/22, while their fierce rivals Inter have secured their 20th and 21st championships in that period.
Having been a consistent winner during his tenure in Portugal, Amorim will be aiming to rediscover his best form following the difficult period at Manchester United .
Amorim achieved a 71.3% win rate at Sporting Lisbon, but that figure fell to just 39.7% during his spell in England.
Amorim's anticipated appointment comes after several high-profile managers were associated with the role.
Mauricio Pochettino , who got the USA off to a strong start at the World Cup with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay at the weekend, had been mentioned, as had former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner , who left the Eagles at the end of the season following their UEFA Conference League triumph.
Another ex-Manchester United manager, Ralf Rangnick, had also been linked with the San Siro position.
