FOX World Cup host Rebecca Lowe, who shared the sad news, and the NBC Sports family are devastated following the passing of beloved colleague Wendy

Rebecca Lowe has revealed that she and her NBC Sports colleagues are in "deep shock" following the death of a co-worker, Wendy.
Lowe, who has been at the helm of NBC's Premier League coverage since 2013, is currently on secondment to rival network FOX, where she is leading their World Cup coverage alongside Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Alexi Lalas.
However, late on Monday night, Lowe took to social media to post a heartfelt tribute to her colleague Wendy , with whom she worked at NBC, and who has tragically passed away.

"Our Wendy. The NBC Sports Family are in deep shock today, mourning the loss of our wonderful Wendy," Lowe penned on Instagram, accompanying her words with a series of photos of Wendy.
"She wasn't one for photos so thank you @gab_angelique for sending these beautiful pictures and how fitting that they should be of Wendy with so many of the young people she helped.
"That will be one of her many legacies. She positively impacted young people's lives, giving them opportunities, opening doors and for that, she will be remembered through the lives of so, so many..

"Our love and hearts go out to her family to whom she was so dedicated. And that word 'dedicated' sums her up," reports the Mirror US .
"She was always there for her NBC family, for her work and for others. We are thankful to have been touched by Wendy and will never forget her. She was a marvel and we hold her family, friends and all the young people at NBC in our hearts. With our love always."
Lowe wasn't the sole NBC personality to honour Wendy's memory. Ex-Premier League midfielder Robbie Mustoe, who partners with Lowe on NBC's league coverage, penned: "It's really hard to say just how special Wendy was in our NBC family.
"She cared so much about making our lives easier... supporting us in so many ways for so long. This is really heartbreaking. I should have told her more about how much I appreciated her. This is devastating.
Former USMNT, Manchester United and Everton shot-stopper Tim Howard commented: "Truly one of the best to do it. She will be missed dearly.
The exact position Wendy held within the NBC Sports outfit remains uncertain. What stands beyond doubt, though, is that she was cherished by her workmates, numerous of whom echoed Mustoe and Howard's sentiments with their own moving words..
"This is absolutely heartbreaking. The most caring and selfless woman who took care of everyone she worked with. She will be so missed," penned one associate.
Another said: "One of the most caring people I've ever met in my life. Wendy was everybody's mum and nothing was ever too big or too small. The world has lost a special one. Thank you for everything Wendy."
