Man Utd transfer news as club 'open talks' over West Ham winger ahead of Rashford 'exit'

Man Utd have reportedly "opened talks" with West Ham United over the sale of one of their biggest stars as Marcus Rashford exit from Old Trafford looks increasingly more likely

Man Utd are bracing themselves for the exit of England international Marcus Rashford as the club have reportedly "opened talks" with West Ham for one of their star players.

Head coach Michael Carrick is eager to bolster his squad and reportedly has eyes on one of Netherlands international who starred at the World Cup, despite his nation's early exit.

According to GiveMeSport's Senior Football Correspondent Ben Jacobs, Man Utd have reportedly made "direct club-to-club contact with West Ham over Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham are facing a difficult summer after relegation to the Championship with several of their star players linked with moves abroad or back to the Premier League.

Jacobs goes on to say that his sources tell him that Summerville is high in the club's thinking but task are " exploratory at this stage".

He went on to say that any potential bid being made by Man Utd would depend on Rashford potentially being sold.

Rashford, who is currently with England at the World Cup, has seen his future up in the air after a loan season at Barcelona last season.

Rúben Amorim, who is now head coach at AC Milan, allowed Rashford to leave Old Trafford on loan last season but it is currently unknown if he is part of Carrick's plans.

Rashford enjoyed some success at Barcelona but is not expected to return to the Camp Nou after the Spanish giants signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

The England star appeared for England against DR Congo this week and could be putting himself in the shop window this summer with his performances at the World Cup.
