Turpin also officiated successive European showpieces including the 2021 Europa League final before being handed the Champions League final in Paris just 12 months later.
The 44-year-old is one of the more measured referees when it comes to disciplinary action with his yellow card count averaging out at just over three per game.
He will be assisted by compatriots Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages as part of a European line-up for the clash between the teams from South America and Africa.
Spanish duo Alejandro Hernandez and Jose Enrique Naranjo have been named as fourth official and reserve assistant referee respectively ahead of the showdown.
Switzerland will await whichever nation progresses thanks to a 2-0 win over Algeria .
