Jude Bellingham Slammed For '7-Word Reaction to Enzo Fernandez's Goal' vs England

It was another World Cup semi-final defeat for England on Wednesday night - the third time in their history they have faltered at the final four stage.

It was a familiar story for the Three Lions , who, like in 2018 against Croatia, took the lead, but could not hold on to it, with reigning champions Argentina scoring two late goals to continue their 100% record at the semi-final stage and make it through to a second successive final and a showdown with Spain in New Jersey on Sunday.

Superstars Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham had carried England to the final four, scoring 12 of the nation's 13 goals up until that point, but neither could find the moment of magic the Three Lions required against the South Americans.

Jude Bellingham was not impressed by Argentina's equaliser

Bellingham was caught up in controversy after the game when he was spotted slapping the back of Valentin Barco's head after the final whistle.

And new footage of Bellingham appears to show the England talisman angrily shouting at goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for his role in Enzo Fernandez's equaliser.

The Chelsea man had already given England a warning with a few sighters from range before firing home from the edge of the box in the 85th minute following a short corner - something else England were given a warning about during the match.

Bellingham was the closest one to Fernandez when he took aim, closing the Argentina man down, but failing to stop his shot that curled away from Pickford and into the back of the England net.

Bellingham was supported by Gary Neville

Looking at replays, it appears that, according to the Mirror , Bellingham can be seen reacting angrily at the goal when he sees it on the big screen, throwing his arms out and saying: "It's the middle of the goal."

Bellingham wears his heart on his sleeve and will have been hurting after the effort he put in, not just against Argentina, but to the tournament as a whole. And he had an ally in Gary Neville when it came to criticising - if that's what he was intimating - Pickford.

Speaking on the Stick to Football Watch Party, Neville said: "Not gone in the corner, that, he's got to save that. Got to save it. He's past it."

But Bellingham's comments did not go down well with supporters. The video of Bellingham's reaction to the goal was posted on social networking site Reddit and some users reacted just as angrily as the England star appeared to.

One user wrote:

You had 8 defenders on the field and Argentina is shooting on target. Can't blame your gk alone for this mate.

Another said:

Pickford was consistently one of their best players this entire tournament, don’t start throwing the keeper under the bus now.

Another questioned Bellingham's leadership qualities, which seems unfair at just 23 years old.

"This guy will never be a leader. He should be encouraging his teammates and saying they can win. Instead, he’s whining and blaming them."

Another went on to say:

Zero class. Pickford was arguably your best player that game.
